of numerous tourist brochures that date from the 1930's to 1960's that we're selling on eBay.
The brochure in this listing is for
Fields of the Wood, Cherokee County, North Carolina, between Ducktown, Tennessee and Hiwassee Dam.
Fields of the Wood is a religious park of more than 200 acres in Cherokee County, North Carolina, owned by the Church of God of Prophecy.
It is best known for its 300-foot-wide, mountainside representation of the Ten Commandments. Other representations include the New Testament, the Sepulchre, and the All Nations Cross, all of which are shown in this brochure. I think this brochure is from the late 1950's or early 1960's.
On the back is a large map (9 x 24") with a Tourist Mileage Chart, showing the distance from various cities and towns to Fields of the Wood. See the scans! There is also a list of annual programs, including Dawn on Easter, Church Anniversary, Annual Assembly Program and Thanksgiving Day.
The brochure has 6 2-sided panels, each measuring 4 x 9". Very good condition, all complete and totally readable. A few tiny tears at the folds.
Please email with questions before buying this brochure, and check out our other travel brochures on eBay and in our eBay store, Paper Emporium. We also have hundreds of ephemera, including vintage photos, maps and charts, postcards, cigar labels, and much more.
