Antique Architectural Salvage Caryatid Corbel Female-Harp Carved Wood Sculpture

For sale is a gorgeous carved solid wood corbel measuring approximately 17” tall by 9” wide by 2½” deep (at its widest point).
Reminiscent of a nautical figurehead, a sculpted female figure adorns the top of the corbel, draped with flowing cloth and playing a harp. The sides and bottom of this wonderful carving are adorned with ornate leaf carvings and scrollwork.
We are not sure of the exact origin or exact age of this carving as we purchased it at an Estate Sale where we were advised that the piece is an Antique and may have been used as a corbel, salvaged from the wood walls, posts or cabinetry of an opulent old building, or perhaps was used as support or decorative carving on an old wonderful old piece of furniture.
