ANTIQUE/VTG Cherub Wall Corbel Shelf Gold-Gilded Italian 15" L X 5.25" W x 8" D

Description

Up for your consideration is this charming antique/vintage (Circa 1890-1930 but may be older/newer) gold-gilded Cherub wall scone/shelf. Expertly crafted by an unknown maker/production location, but likely from Italy. Presents well and works horizontally as well for an accent piece on display in a cabinet/shelf/table, or hung as a shelf corbel. Part of our family's eclectic life-long collection of oddities, including special functional art pieces like this one (check out my other listings for more unique and special pieces like this one!!!). Always displayed or stored in a climate-controlled environment and from a smoke-free home.
Overall condition: USED but in good condition for age and materials with some noted flaws: This piece is stunning, but has some condition issues noted: there are several surface scratches/rubs/chips...the feet have a crack across them (likely from a mounting failure in the past) and a large chip missing out of the right foot, but was gilded to blend it. The feet wobble at the crack, so care must be taken when handling/hanging it-will possibly separate in the future. It can also be used as a shelf/table piece as it presents well laying horizontally as well (and is safer). The mount feels secure, but is not guaranteed due to age and materials. This piece measures approximately 15" Long/Tall X 5.25" Wide X 8" Deep (shelf is 5.25"x8" and is largest dimension, as it decreases tapering to base at feet) and weighs 8 LBS. This piece appears to be plaster.
