This is a brand new Bunn Factory Part Hopper Locking Plunger Pin for the Ultra-2, Ultra-1 or those CDS machines that have had their upper drip trays converted to the new Ultra style.  You receive one pin with each purchase.
This piece holds the hopper in place when the hopper is properly seated in the upper drip tray.  The plastic spring-loaded plunger pops out and through a hole in the hopper, locking it in place (prevents the giant mess if the hopper becomes dislodged when full of product if bumped or nudged unexpectedly).  These pieces are usually lost, but can break or stick.  If the pin doesn't move in and out, before buying a new assembly, try soaking yours in hot water and Simple Green -- it may be gummed up with leaked product and once cleaned will work fine.  You might consider using a tiny bit of food grade lubricant (Lubri-Film Plus) on the pin to help it move more freely.
Replacement takes only a minute and requires no tools.  The assembly pushes in to the mount on the front left corner of each upper drip tray and is held in by friction.  The assembly goes into the mount from the front, and requires only steady finger pressure for installation.  Do not bang on it or use tools or you may break the upper drip tray mount (more money and time to repair).  If the mount that holds this pin is proken, our experience is that it cannot be fixed or glued back together -- because the plunger is bigger than the hole (designed to hold the pin in place), pushing the pin back in will expand the plastic hole and will break the glued joint.  If the mount is broken, you'll need to replace the upper drip tray -- you can find it in our ebay store.  If the upper drip tray itself is broken or cracked, it MUST be replaced as it catches condensation from the outside of the hoppers and funnels it to the lower drip tray.  If the upper drip tray is cracked, water will run down into the machine and can damage sensitive electronic components.
