    About coin trays:
Most coin trays are constructed of either aluminum or plastic.  For the most part, the choice of one or the other is personal preference, though there are minor differences.  Both are ABA color coded - red for pennies, blue for nickels, green for dimes, and orange for quarters.  Trays for halves and dollars exist, too, but they're less common.  There's not much difference in the cost or weight, and both are stackable.  Aluminum has the benefit of feeling more "solid", or durable, to some. Plastic trays come in two sizes: one comparable to aluminum trays, and one much deeper with higher capacity.  The latter is used by banks and institutions with high coins throughput, but not widely outside of that.  The shallower trays often have molded floors, with ridges, that hold each roll in place so it can't roll in the tray.
Of interest to likely only true coin or banking afficionatos is the fact that over that long run, the production of plastic trays is likely to be phased out over time.  The reason is that plastic trays are produced using expensive tooling that has a limited life.  Since usage of trays of all types is falling over time, as coins in use declines, it's unlikely an manufacturer will want to invest in new tooling with uncertain financial returns.  By comparison, tooling for aluminum trays is much less expensive, maybe 10% of the capital cost, so production of aluminum trays is unlikely to ever disappear in any reasonable timeline.
