Product Description:
This offering is for one set of new-old-stock Shimano 600 EX friction-based shifters (Model SL-6200 in the clamp-on model). This is a good quality alloy shifter set from the early 80's...so they pre-date the advent of index shifting technology. Their styling is also indicative of years' past, with the arabesque pattern and the black enamel accents. The polish work is also appropriate...nothing too flashy...but just enough to compliment the intricate arabesque design.
Also consistent with their vintage, these shifter sets include a factory-matched Shimano down tube clamp, which will mount the shifters on just about any vintage steel frame with the relatively standard down tube measuring 28.6 mm (or 1 1/8") that does not include braze-on shifter bosses. As for drivetrain compatibility, because these sets operate in friction-mode only, they should perform admirably with just about any 5, 6 or 7-speed friction-based drivetrain.
As for condition, all the sets that we have are new and unused, and although packaged in plastic bags, they still show fairly well (with not much shopwear noted on the levers). Also, each set includes the full complement of shifter cables and mounting hardware (including the mounting clamp noted above).

We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.
Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale.
