Nice Fossil Echinoid

Oligopygus wetherbyi
) from Florida
This is one of Florida’s oldest fossils from the Eocene, part of the Ocala Formation.
You get the exact sea biscuit shown in the photos which is
3.3 cm long
.
It was collected at the bottom of the CEMEX Pit, Center Hill, Florida.
Some of the matrix rock of soft limestone remains and can be time-consumingly removed using a small (dental) pick.
