Item Description:
Very rare Shimano 600 #6439807 downtube top of downtube shifter mount. This  mount allows for indexed (or friction) shifters to be used. I bought this NOS, put it on a bike, mounted some shifters, then never rode the bike. Essentially this is in new condition. Can be used with many different types, speeds, and levels of Shimano indexed shifters. The threads in the mount, for mounting the shifters, are M5. The way some left side (front derailleur) shifters are set up from the factory is that they had a slight upward offset when all the way forward, to allow easier access to the left shifter because otherwise the downtube could be 'in the way'. When mounted on the top of the downtube, the left shifter will stick upward a bit on the mount. See the detail pic. Very rare, in really nice condition. Will be well packed and shipped in a box.
