This is a PHOTOCOPY of a Vintage 1960s pattern to make doll clothes for your 12" Tammy Doll. In addition to Tammy, this pattern also fits a large variety of other Teen Age Fashion Model dolls some of which include: Misty, Dodi, Salty, Patti, Sindy (UK doll), Samantha (Bewitched TV show doll), Miss Debutante, Tassy, Suzy, Jan and Terri. Tammy's measurements are: 5-1/4" bust, 4" waist and 5-1/2" hips. This pattern should also fit the 11-1/2" tall Barbie & friends dolls (11-1/2" tall, 5-1/2" bust, 3-1/4" waist and 4-7/8" hips) with minor adjustments.
This pattern makes: Empire waist Dress with gathered skirt; Bathing Suit, Dress & Scarf; Sleeveless Dress in two colors; Robe & Cap; Jumper style Dress & Blouse & Shorts. The Tammy Doll was first released by Ideal Toy Company in 1962 to compete with Mattel's popular Barbie doll (who was released a few years earlier in 1959). Like Barbie, she came with a wide range of clothing as well as many friends such as Misty, Samantha, Jan and Terry. Due to Tammy's popularity, many companies made doll clothing patterns to fit her, her friends or competing Teen Age Fashion Model style dolls. That way mothers and their daughters could make additional outfits for their Barbie dolls. I have a large assortment of patterns available, all of original fashions dating to the 1960s.
To compare Tammy & Barbie for purposes of pattern fit, Tammy stands 12" tall, while Barbie is 11.5" tall. Barbie has a narrower waist and hips than Tammy. The size difference doesn't affect patterns much and they will all work for either Barbie, Tammy or any of their "friends", sometimes with a little bit of tweaking.
