    This is an old handmade carved varnished wood sewing thread holder shaped like an alligator. It measures 12" long by 3" wide by 4&1/2" high. One of the button eyes is chipped and there is a cut in the wood that is under the varnish and appears to be a flaw in the making of the piece.
